The Penn State Department of Spanish, Italian and Portuguese invites undergraduate students to present their linguistics research at the Penn State Undergraduate Exhibition in Hispanic and General Linguistics (PSUxLing9)! PSUxLing will provide students with an opportunity to present their research at a poster session and attend two keynote talks in language science. This year's keynote speakers are Pablo Requena (University of Texas, San Antonio) and Colleen Balukas (University at Buffalo). Additionally, attending students will have the opportunity to speak with other undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty in the Department of Spanish, Italian and Portuguese and in the Center for Language Science, and learn about the diverse career and research opportunities afforded by a degree in linguistics.

The deadline for abstract submission is February 1, 2023.

We invite all undergraduate students to submit up to one single-authored and one jointly-authored abstract for consideration on any topic related to Hispanic or General Linguistics. Presentations can focus on any stage of the research project, including conceptual posters, pilot studies, and completed projects. Abstracts should be between 350 and 500 words long, not including references, and should be submitted using the Abstract Submission form on the PSUxLing website.

PSUxLing Travel Awards of up-to-$500 will be provided to undergraduate students with top abstracts to offset their travel and lodging expenses.
