Biography:

Research Interests: Language evolution, motor and cognitive mechanisms of language, the relationship between fine motor and orofacial-motor control
I was a graduate student in cognitive psychology in Dr Dan Weiss’ Child Language and Cognition Lab. I did my undergraduate in psychology at the University of Georgia and my masters in biology titled, “Language prerequisites in Pan: Orofacial-motor and breath control in chimpanzees and bonobos” at Kennesaw State University.  I am interested in the evolutionary origins of language, motor and cognitive language mechanisms, and doing comparative work with nonhuman primates and young children.
