Megan Zirnstein

Research Interests: Sentence processing; individual differences in reading behavior and comprehension; bilingual language processing; ERPs; eye tracking

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Language Science at Pennsylvania State University. I received my M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology in the Perception, Cognition, and Cognitive Neuroscience area from the University of California, Davis.

For the past several years, my research has focused on investigating the behavioral and neural correlates of sentence processing phenomena, as well as individual differences in reading behavior and comprehension ability. In my recent work at Penn State, I have begun to examine how bilingual experience influences native and non-native reading, and how this is realized in the brain and in behavior. In particular, I am interested in the extent to which repercussions of being bilingual, such as changes in language proficiency and cognitive control ability, may influence reading comprehension in young and older adulthood.
