Biography:

My research focuses on second language acquisition in adults, with an emphasis of vocabulary acquisition and semantic network development. I use psycholinguistic techniques to study how learners incorporate new vocabulary into their lexicon, and how they retrieve words during communication. I am also interested in statistical learning, second language phonology, and translation studies.

Upon graduation, Gabriela will assume the position of Lecturer and Coordinator of Beginner Spanish in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies at the University of Florida.
