Talk by Dr. Anne Olmstead (University of Kansas) Understanding the interplay of action and perception in language processing

Understanding the interplay of action and perception in language processing

In this talk, I will discuss a range of work that centers on one question. Specifically, how does the context of language use affect processing in both perception and production. I will report on research examining the interplay of meaning creation and an individual's actions and then turn my attention to work examining how linguistic experience shapes speech perception and production. Finally, I will discuss my future plans for these projects.
