The Young Language Science Scholar (YLSS) event is held annually in the Center for Language Science (CLS).
Each year, CLS graduate students select a successful language science scholar in the early stages of their career (typically postdoctoral fellow or assistant professor) to come to campus for a two day visit. The visit is an opportunity for the CLS community to learn about the speaker’s experience as a young scholar and interact through individual meetings and a research presentation. There is also a poster session open to CLS graduate and undergraduate students. Some invited speakers from previous years include Anna Papafragou, Kara Morgan-Short, Susanne Gahl, Krista Byers-Heinlein, Michael Frank, Yanjing Wu, Veronica Whitford, Ethan Kutlu, Ander Beristain, and Masoud Jasbi.
