We are delighted to share that former SIP and CLS graduate student Jessica Vélez-Avilés (presently Assistant Professor of Linguistics at UNC Chapel Hill) has received the Young Scholar Award at the Human Sentence Processing Conference for her paper, “Revisiting the Role of Literacy on Predictive Processing During Spoken Language Comprehension: Evidence from Low-Income Afro-Colombian Speakers.”
